THE RULES
Community guidelines
The short version of everything below: be someone worth talking to, don't try to move conversations off this site, and remember everything you post here is public.
Age & accounts
- You must be 18 or older to create an account or post.
- Age range on /join is self-reported. It's how stories get organized by life stage, not a verified fact. Be honest with it anyway. It's the only thing that makes the boards useful.
- Your email is used only to sign you in. It's never shown to anyone, including other members. See the privacy page for exactly how it's stored.
What's okay
- Numbers, mistakes, wins, doubts. The real version of doing this, not a highlight reel.
- Disagreeing with someone's approach. Doing it like a person, not a comment-section reflex.
- Asking questions that feel too basic to ask elsewhere. That's a big part of the point of this place.
What's not okay
- Sharing personal contact info, yours or anyone else's, in a post. Real name, address, phone number, socials, school, employer. If you want to be more reachable, that's a decision to make off this site, not on it.
- Trying to take a conversation private. There is no private messaging anywhere on Traveler, on purpose. If someone asks you to email them, DM them elsewhere, or “continue this off-platform,” that's a report, not a normal ask.
- Spam, self-promotion, and financial solicitation. No recruiting for MLMs, no “DM me for a guaranteed return,” no dropping referral links and vanishing.
- Harassment, doxxing, or targeting anyone, member or not.
Reporting & moderation
Every story and comment has a Report button. You don't need an account to use it. Reports go straight to a private admin queue, not to the person you reported. From there, a story or comment can be removed, or an account can be suspended. There's no public record of who reported what.
Members can also edit or delete their own comments at any time.
One more thing
None of this is a substitute for your own judgment. If a person, a request, or a post feels off, trust that and back away from it. Reporting it helps the next person too.
